About Me
I currently live and work in Bangor Co. Down.
I have been using pencil and paint to explore the complexity of life and humanity for as long as I can remember. Although my working life took me in a different direction, working with humanity in particular children, enabling them to deal with life complexities.
The one thread that kept me connected to my true self was the use of pencil and paint using it within my various work settings. Over the years attending art course that continued to enhance and hone my skills. That thread has now become my working life and that different direction experience of humanity in all its shapes and forms. In particular children, their connection to nature and other living things, their ability to float between realms of fantasy and reality and their roles in folklore and faerietales.
When it comes to art making, for me, it is about breaking down then reconstructing the desires and fears of humanity through narrative portraiture ,paintings and more recently ceramics. Playing with texture and colour, layering up to create movement and depth to portray unspoken human emotions.
